Scientist Eve Cartwright and her sisters are the last humans alive on a planet destroyed by apocalyptic war. Determined to reseed their planet with life once their world becomes habitable again, Eve and her sisters tend and keep the carefully preserved collection of plant, animal, and human life rescued from their world before war destroyed it.
Eve lives the simple life of duty and stewardship laid out for her before she was born: monitor the planet, guard the precious cache of her world’s genetic material, raise the next generation of guardians to do the same. Then a ship crashes in the nearby desert and brings Eve face to face with a mysterious stranger–the first man Eve has ever met.
“The Noah” is my contribution to a collection of romantic sci-fi short stories in the The Mammoth Book of Futuristic Romance, available January 1, 2013, from Running Press.

I am currently completing THE WINTER KING, a fantasy romance set in a world called Mystral, and featuring warring kingdoms of powerful weathermages. Unfortunately, due to a series of personal issues, completing the book has been taking much longer than expected. I’ll announce the book’s scheduled release date once I turn in the manuscript. Watch this space for details. PLEASE NOTE: WHEN IN DOUBT, CHECK MY WEBSITE FOR MY SCHEDULED BOOK RELEASE INFORMATION. IT’S THE ONLY SOURCE I CAN CONTROL. After completing THE WINTER KING, I’ll head back to the Fading Lands to check in on old friends. Next up: Bel’s book. I have already plotted out the basics of the story with The Starfish Club, my writing and brainstorming buddies, and started writing it as my November 2012 National Novel Writing Month project. I can’t wait to get back to it!
