That place would have to be the Grand Canyon. I was never terribly interested in going, thinking that I had seen all I could see of it in photographs and movies. Then on a whim a couple years ago I decided to take my mother and two grown sons to the Grand Canyon. I was not in any way prepared for the sheer magnitude of the canyon, and I stood there absolutely blown away by it. There was a hush over the crowd of people as they were getting their first look at the canyon, and I think that most were as emotionally moved as I was. It was a truly life-changing experience.

Such a hard question. There are so many beautiful places in this country I have blessed to visit. However, I think the Talimena Drive through Oklahoma is the most uplifting and peaceful experience.

Outside of a local supermarket! Many years ago, my then teenaged daughter and I spent a day running errands. Since we didn’t have a car, we rode the bus. It was a rainy day and while we waited for a cab to take us home with our groceries, we got a little silly. Ok, a lot. We sang and danced in the rain like children. The store is long gone, but the memory remains. It was the best day ever!

When I was a child my family often went snorkelling off the coast of Malaysia. I have fond memories of playing with anemones and angel fish. Whenever I am upset or have trouble sleeping I remember floating in the ocean surrounded by multi-coloured fish and corals.

The most memorable place I’ve visited would have to be New Zealand. With rolling green hills, mountain scapes, and forestry areas it’s one of the most beautiful and romantic places I’ve visted yet. Warm fuzzy feels all over – imagine doing a book setting there… LOVE!

This year we went to Ottawa for the Army Run. We ran 10km this year, last year was only 5 km. But across the bridge in Gatineau Quebec they had a garden set up called The Mosiac. Its huge statuary made all of plants, moss and wiring. It was so beautiful and so serene. Mother Earth herself must have been 20 feet tall and was just from the bust up, with her hands out spread. In her one hand was a waterfall and an eagle sitting there as well. Beautiful music playing in the background. It was very overwhelming and awe inspiring. A must go if you are in Canada anywhere near Ottawa.

The most beautiful memorable place I’ve been was was my trip to Florida to the Atlantic Ocean with my mom. It was the most memorable and beautiful because my mom had never seen or been to the ocean in her life and it was the gift I was able to give her before she passed away.

Kyoto, Japan. The feeling of beeing caught between the very old and the very modern. It was fascinating.

Hmmm… Buccoo Reef, in the waters off of Tobago (in the Caribbean) is SERIOUSLY magical. The water is so green-blue and tranquil, and the sand is so white. It’s shallow so you can bounce around in the water (even those who can’t swim). It’s peaceful and beautiful and everything about the boat ride to the Reef is lovely. I love going there!

Thank you! =)

James Hook & Co. bungalow. It was my last day in Boston, and I had the most amazing lobster roll in my life. I still dream of that lobster roll.

I went to Seoul and Jeju Island with my mum and we toured a bunch of temples and palaces and the architecture is just so colourful and beautiful. One of the temples had a festival going and it was covered in flowers which was particularly pretty.

One of my most memorable places is a tiny look-out spot in the hills above perth Western Australia, it overlooks the City and the views are amazing… the reason this place is so special… it’s where my husband asked me to marry him (nearly 5 years ago) and we at randoms times will just decide to go for a drive and end up there
