Only 18 more days until SEA KING!!

To celebrate the release, we’re counting down the days with fun and prizes.  Each day, from now until November 1st, drop by to join the celebration and answer the Question of the Day in this blog’s comment section to be entered to win.  (For sweepstakes rules and eligibility, click here.)

This Week’s Drawing

From now until 10am, Tuesday, October 17th, stop by the C.L. Wilson blog to answer the Question of the Day (QoD) to be entered to win one of this week’s fabulous prizes and receive a ticket in the Grand Prize drawing.  Each individual QoD you answer gets you another ticket in both the weekly and the Grand Prize prize drawings, so don’t be shy.

You can also comment multiple times a day, just to have fun and be involved, but each participant receives only one ticket in the drawing for each day’s blog post you comment on.  All responses will be tallied after comments close for the final post. The winners will be selected at random from all entries, with all winners of this week’s drawing posted on Tuesday, October 17th.

Question of the Day

Some people love to read novels set in Scotland.  Some people love to read about serial killers.  Some people love to read books about aliens who fall in love with earthlings.  What’s one of your favorite book tropes and what it is that you find so appealing about it?

I;m a mood reader sometimes I might like angels and vampires(Nalini Singh <3), sometimes I might want historical romance set in England in the 1800's or I might want some contemporary romance. I love them all 🙂

LOL! If the story is written well, I’m up for almost any trope… Scottish, suspense thrillers, aliens who fall in love with earthlings, fantasies (YA and adult), contemporary romances… I just like books I can escape into…

Time Travel!!!! Oh, I’d love to go visit another time period! But I’m too OCD to go without running water and flushing toilets…so I’d just like to visit and come home like they do in the books 🙂

I love historical. There is something about knights in armor that gets me. I love reading about Scottish rebels and the War of the Roses. The to and fro between John amd Richard, all so much fun. One author I read has fictional characters, but keeps to 90% of the history. I love reading her author’s note at the end telling of the exact history frame work where the book resides in. Always so neat to be able to put what you just read into a historical accurate timeline.

I really like fantasy romance lately but I especially like retellings of traditional fairy tales.

Amelia Peabody from Elizabeth Peters’s mystery series. I love her because she is strong without becoming hard, opinionated, unconventional, hilarious at times, and brave.

Same question as yesterday? Ok well I have more! Meghan Chase and Ash from The Iron Fey series because I love the evolution of both characters and their relationship. Evie from The Arcana Chronicles because she is strong, determined and badass!

Since it id the same as yesterday, I’ll say my 2nd favorite protagonist is Gaelen.

Patti

  on October 13, 2017 :

Mac from the Fever series

My favorite characters are flawed with an amazing amount of growth and I saw that in Mac from the beginning and love her for it

Mathilda S

  on October 13, 2017 :

I like Fitz from Robin Hobbs novels about the Farseers and the Assassin’s apprentice, because he tries to do the right thing and even if he doesn’t succeed the first time he tries again.

Elizabeth Bennett- smart

  on October 13, 2017 :

Nix from Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. She’s funny, altruistic and self-serving. I know very contradictory, but you just never know what she’s going to do or say, but everything has a purpose behind it.

Kelley

  on October 13, 2017 :

My favorite protagonist is Winter because the epilogue makes him the sweetest husband ever.

Yesterday I noticed a woman saying to Cheryl thru FB that she was unable to post her answer for the QOTD. Maybe the site is malfunctioning?
