When Ellie rides Rain the first time, when he shows her his tairen. It just made me smile to see his playful side and see how he wanted her to be comfortable, but also wanted to show off.

My comment on this one is the same as the one I gave for yesterday’s question. When Ellie called Rain from the sky! It perfectly set the stage for their relationship throughout the rest of the series.

Have to say when Numair corners the Emperor Mage about the whereabouts of his student Daine. Its the first inkling that, to Numair, Daine means more to him than just her being his student.

This line isn’t exactly a happy one, but it stuck with me for several days after I had read it. At the very end of the third book in Richelle Mead’s Vampire academy series Rose has discovered that her love, Dimitri, was taken and turned into a Strogi (evil vampire). She makes the decision to leave the academy and hunt him down to release him from an evil life. The last sentence goes something like “I’m off, off to kill the man I love.”

It’s so hard to choose just one, I love too many books with great scenes. However, I love the scene is Cassandra Clare’s City of Lost Souls when Clary is going to see Jace in the medical ward and she’s so nervous about what he’s going to say about her stabbing him with the sword Glorious and he’s nervous about her reaction to what the sword has done to him. I find that scene sweet, funny and romantic.

The first one that came to mind was from Thea Harrison’s Spellbinder. I grew up dreaming of Camelot and King Arthur and still love well-written tales steeped in mythological lore. Morgan has been blamed over the centuries for turning on his protégé, King Arthur, but, in Spellbinder, we learn that this was not by Morgan’s choice. I had many favorite scenes but one that quickly comes to mind involves a simultaneously flirtatious and humorous discussion between Morgan and Sidonie. Morgan’s surprised reaction still makes me laugh-out-loud:
“Just when I was coping with the idea that I’d necked with a werewolf,” she muttered. “Just when I was beginning to flirt with the idea of possibly… possibly inviting sex with a werewolf. …
Beside her, he had stiffened. Very quietly, he said, “Sex?” …
Giving her a slow, coaxing smile that turned the heat in the room up by a thousand degrees, he stroked her lips with the balls of his thumbs as he murmured, “Can we get back to talking about possibly inviting that werewolf for sex?”

It is hard to pick a favorite. each book I read has parts that strike me at different times and they all stay a part of me. But, I think my favorite scene from a book would be the book that spiked my interest in helping others. I read it back in middle school, and it is called “The Only Alien on the Planet”. In the book, a young boy is mentally abused by his older brother and as he grows up, he grows to believe that noone will ever love him and noone can ever touch him and he cannot talk to anyone or else he will suffer severe repercussions. At the end of the book, with an unkowning friend’s help, he begins to crack out of his shell and it is just amazing to see the transformation that can occur in others when they strive to overcome their obstacles. Added to that is the message that often times we help others just by being ourselves and being there. This book is one I still revisit as an adult.

Harry Dresden riding a Trex raised from the dead with necromancy while Butters plays the drums to keep it’s heart going. BEST. SCENE. EVER.

A scene from a book I just read: A study in ashes. The main protagonist and her childhood friend/romantic interest have come to a crossroads. Evie has finally killed the main antagonist, but in a method that he taught her in the first place. She is distraught, considering how anyone can ever look at her in the same light after she’s done this. Nick, sees that fear, reassuring her that she won’t become the same as the antagonist. Because after all, that person didn’t have Nick.

I think of Gone with the Wind when I think of Romantic Novels. It took me a few days to complete it.
So many scenes! Rhett and the ladies! Scarlett and Rhett’s scenes in the movie …

Lord of the Fading Lands – When Ellysetta heals Bel – it such a quiet moment but Ellysetta has such a giving heart and wants to ease everyone around her and does not know the signifigance of what she has done

One of my strongest memories from any book is the scene in The Lord of the Rings when they put Boromir’s body on the boat an sends him on his final journey. It was such a sad yet beautiful athmosphere in that scene.

(Man, these are tough!! So many to choose from!!)

One of my favorite scenes would be in Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Towards the end, Ash and Tory finally escape from Artemis with Apollymi’s help. As they’re leaving, Tory tells Ash she needs a moment with Artemis. When he leaves, Tory confronts Artemis and promises if she ever comes after Ash again, Tory will kill her. I love this scene because, throughout the entire series, not just this book, Artemis has used and abused Ash and he took it because he was protecting everyone else. It was so wonderful to see someone else stand up for him and protect him, something he’s never known.

Oh man this is a hard one.

There are too many, I can’t hardly pick!

But I think the scene that I can call my favorite is the one that really drew me into love of fantasy-type novels.

In Terry Goodkind’s Wizards First Rule, towards the end of the book, there’s a scene where Richard tricks Darken Rahl into sending himself into the underworld by simply trusting in his love for the books heroine and his own cleverness.

From Lord of the Fading Land when Ellysetta calls Rainier from the sky. And the come out of the cone of fire cause her little sisters are having a fit and so upset. I LOVE the love the sisters have for each other, because up to this point I felt that the little girls just used Ellysetta to get their way. I also loved that you could also see that there would be a future bond with keiran and kiel

When Dirk rescues Talia from Ancar in Mercedes Lackey’s Arrows of the Queen Trilogy.. Seemed pretty hopeless but he didn’t give up.

there are so many its hard to choose just one! I love the scene in the Alana series where she finally beats the stew out of ralon of malven. she was half his size, much younger than him, but because she trained hard, she was able to win anyways.

When Jack Frosf saves the children when he could have left them for the Nightmare King (Guardians of Childhood illustrated edition by William Joyce)

In Wicked Abyss when Lila takes over Sians kingdom. It’s such a badass moment showing the heroine doesn’t have to be a naive scared woman. She can be just as strong and brave as the hero.

one of my favourites is in the first book of the faders trilogy where Arena shows she is better than the guys are at archery and the expression on their faces. It also sets a trend for others to follow the same path and other talents to come out of the woodwork
