She is intelligent, thinks for herself but open to others points of view, witty and sassy, a little sarcastic, I like my heroine to be able to kick some ass when she needs to, loyal and protective of those she cares about, she does not trust or fall in love at first sight, she is honorable but not too principled that she won’t get her hands dirty for the greater good if needed, she is strong partner for the male protagonist.

My favorite heroine is someone who is flawed, knows she is, but still triumphs despite those flaws. Someone who is loyal to her family and friends. Someone who can kick ass in whatever she excels in and is confident getting the job done. Having some feistiness is always fun to read.

I like complex, strong, fighting on good side not evil even if she dips toe in/gets out… heroine journey

Strong. Feminine. Pleasant. Lovely enchanting smile. Helping others. Takes no nonsense. Educated. May not be degrees. ….listing some.

  on October 20, 2017 :

Strong, confident, vulnerable, independent and sassy.

Heather Foster

  on October 20, 2017 :

Street smarts, wittyness and woman who are strong but vulnerable.

Joana

My kind of heroine

Not necessarily intelligent but very Witty.
The one that never give up.

And knows what she wants.

I like when heroines discover their strength. I like strong female characters that also are humble and vulnerable at times but they need to have steel in their spines and the ability to defend themselves if need to.

Mary McCoy

  on October 20, 2017 :

Strength, intelligence, loyalty and humor

Miranda Herrmann

  on October 20, 2017 :

I like when she is strong, and doesn’t have the cliche damsel in distress moments. She kicks butt in her own right and if she is kinda sarcastic I always like her better haha.

  on October 20, 2017 :

I want her to be brave, yet vulnerable. I won’t lie…I like it when we have something in common. If we have the same hair color or general appearance I often put myself in the book as a secret sister or cousin. (I’m too shy to be a main character. I’m weird!) And I think being humble is a must! If she can have some humor and determination, the book will stay with me.

  on October 20, 2017 :

Our heroine needs to be strong in her own right. While she may need to take a journey of discovery with our hero to find her strength, she should also be confident in herself. No damsel in distress! She needs to be an equal partner with our hero.

Jessica Jones

  on October 20, 2017 :

A character that is humble but strong. She doesn’t see what she or her power until she finishes her Journey. Ellie in the Tairen Soul series is my all time favorite!

Lindsey

  on October 20, 2017 :

strong personality, brave, feisty, and independent.

Jenny Dorsett

  on October 20, 2017 :

I like the heroines that are strong, but don’t realize it yet. Its the mild ones who show their grit in the face of adversity that make me happy.

Melissa Esser

  on October 20, 2017 :

Oooo- She’s gotta be awesome and kick arse. Not too cheesy. Most importantly written well so I can love her.

Linda Townsend

  on October 20, 2017 :

Kind, real/genuine, honest, brave…

Dani

  on October 20, 2017 :

I love all types of heroines, but I think my favorite quality in a heroine is one that can hold her own. There’s no letting the hero steamroll her!

NicoleMC

  on October 20, 2017 :

Brave, smart, kind, quiet confidence, genuine, strong. I love when heroines are independent yet can still rely on their friends. 🙂

Rex Anne

  on October 20, 2017 :

Well, I do like strong women. However, I want them to be sweet and feminine, too. I want them to be gentle but capable of handling themselves. Or be like Summer/Marissya, haha.
Powerful magical capabilities are a definite must!
